People work. People play.

People work. People play. Are they independent aspects of life or can play facilitate work?

The 2005 AWF conference will explore how products and services, arrived at through user-centered design research, can aid in making work more productive, profitable and fun.

The program is still a kind of "loose".

Will you attend? I would be interested in a copy of the presentations :-)

Pretty sure I will be there as I have for every year previously. Often the presentations end up posted online anyway (I mean, really, who uses PAPER anymore!)

Nice topic Steve :) People do work, People do play...and to me they are interconnected. I certainly encourage students to play in solving a design problem. This can be more - or less, structured, depanding on the situation or group.

Good teachers know, for example, that games stimulate learning. Learning brings new realisations - this could be learning about anything, including service design or product design...

So I'd say it is important if we are talking creative to allow time and space for play...This is worth exploring in additional posts I think...
